Professional Certificate Equivalency System at the American University for Training and Professional Studies
The American University for Training and Professional Studies, as a private institution registered and licensed in the United States of America – Arizona, seeks to support the careers of trainees and professionals from various countries by recognizing their qualifications and practical and academic experience. The Professional Equivalency System aims to evaluate and document the academic and professional qualifications of applicants in accordance with international quality standards, granting them an equivalent professional certificate recognized by the American University.
Professional equivalency includes the following degrees:
1. Professional Diploma
2. Professional Bachelor’s
3. Professional Master’s
4. Professional Doctorate
Professional certificates at the American University are recognized based on one of the following two criteria:
1. Equivalency through academic or professional certificates
• The trainee must have a university or professional degree from an institution recognized by the American University.
• The degree must be in the same field or a similar field that matches the scope of the equivalency.
• The degree must be matched to the required academic level (diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, or professional doctorate).
2. Equivalency through the Expert Committee
• If an equivalent university or professional degree is not available, applicants may apply for equivalency by demonstrating competence and practical experience.
• The American University’s Expert Committee evaluates the applicant based on:
• Documented practical and professional experience.
• Submission of a thesis, dissertation, or specialized research in the required field.
• Interview or test (if necessary).
• The Scientific Committee issues its decision to accept, reject, or request additional requirements.
1. Complete the Professional Certificate Equivalency Application Form through the American University.
2. Submit a copy of academic and professional certificates (if applicable).
3. Submit a detailed CV.
4. Provide the university with documents proving practical experience, research, or theses (if the Expert Committee relies on the application).
5. Pay $100 to the Scientific Committee as an evaluation and review fee.
• Note: This amount is for evaluation purposes only and is not considered part of the total equivalency fees.
1. The Scientific Committee receives the equivalency application and attachments.
2. The documents are reviewed to ensure their validity and compliance with the requirements.
3. The decision is issued within 10–30 days from the date of receipt of the complete file.
4. The Committee’s decisions are final and binding.
• The trainee will receive an equivalency professional certificate issued by the American University, duly authenticated and stamped.
• The trainee’s academic and professional standing will be enhanced locally and internationally.
• The possibility of benefiting from other university programs (memberships, fellowships, conferences, and training).
1. The University reserves the right to reject any application that does not meet the requirements and standards.
2. The university reserves the right to request additional documents or evidence as needed.
3. The equivalency system is periodically renewed in accordance with international standards and accreditation requirements.
